SCHOOL FARM AND COUNTRY FAIR

Every year Three Musketeers exhibits at the School Farm and Country Fair at the Suffolk Show Ground. This is an educational fair for children aged between 7 and 9 and about 4500 children attend from schools across Suffolk. All activities aim to give the children a greater understanding of farming, food production and the countryside and the importance of agriculture to Suffolk.
There were many farming and food production businesses exhibiting at the show including being able to taste food samples from some of the exhibitors. There was livestock for the children to see and learn about and they also got the opportunity to get close to and touch a variety of animals. There were tractor and trailer rides for the children and the chance for them to see some agricultural machinery and vehicles.
Throughout the day there were shows and demonstrations in the main ring, including a sheep dog display, East Anglian Air Ambulance, sheep shearing, gun dog display and many more.
There were over 100 exhibiters at the show including Tesco, CO-OP, The Woodbridge Tide Mill, EDF Energy, East Anglian Air Ambulance, Suffolk Young Farmers, RSPB, Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Wild Meat Company and many more.
Three Musketeers stand aimed to teach the children the different cooking methods of potatoes and asked them to put a sticker on the board showing their favourite way to eat potatoes. Chips won with roast potatoes coming a close second. We then had a table with 5 bowls of different varieties of potatoes for them to look at and try to match each variety with the best method of cooking.
